PPF FAQ, part-3: Revealing some crucial information about how PPF warranty works and what does it not cover. A good quality Paint Protection Film (PPF TPU) ensures hassle free usage and long term reliability. Having done 550+ cars’ PPF TPU work in last 25 months (as of Jan 2024), I have experienced least complaints relating to warranty and most complaints about installation finish and maintenance, which we were able to rectify within few days.

The one biggest question in the minds of all new car owners and first time PPF customers is the brand name that is the best for their expectations. Everyone wants to know which PPF brand is the most promising, most reliable and most authentic with harmless PPF.

Only a few people realize that the question that they ask is more about a PPF TPU material and less about a brand name, hence we shall always focus on the material quality when getting PPF done on our car/bike irrespective of the brand name. There are numerous nice PPF brands that are available in the detailing market that are harmless, have a good service and also they look great on our car in the long term, however the pricing is accordingly very high. All materials have a few pros and cons and therefore in this video we will see how to test various PPF materials and their reliability factors before investing our money on them for our car's scratch protection and for long term good looks.

One of the many PPF related myths include the thickness concerns by our PPF customers. Many people are concerned whether it's good to get a thick PPF or should they prefer PPF of thin thickness. Thicker PPF although are expected to offer better impact protections, there are also chances of removal issues in the future for some PPF grades.

My idea is if the grade and strength of the PPF is good and it can withstand high impacts, during removal it would be easy to remove and hence it can have a good thickness and good strong adhesive also. However a weak PPF with high thickness and a strong adhesive is likely to cause more trouble during removals.

Another important factor in the car PPF market in India, is the cost comparison. A very few people know that when you take your car for PPF work, it's not just the cost that needs to be compared, it's also the quality and quantity that needs to be considered and compared well.

Few years ago, there were only expensive PPF options available in the market, which costed Rs. 1 lakh+, but now there are many more options that begin from Rs. 35k and the higher end PPF options can go up to Rs. 2.5 lakhs.

It's now very confusion for car owners to decide whether to trust a brand an take an overhyped overcharged bill of a subpar PPF, or to be smart and choose low cost alternatives from smaller studios. In my opinion, the best thing a car owner can do is learn some basics of comparing the materials based on various essential factors as explained in this PPF brand comparison video.
